In 1839 a Thomas Campbell aged 18 was tried for stealing in County of York. Sentenced to 4 months in prison. Not sure if this is the same Thomas.
IN 1843 he was sentenced to 14 days Hard Labour for being idle and disorderly and refusing to work, causing his family to become chargeable to Grewelthorpe parish for relief. He was described as 5ft 5inch. Gray eyes [blind in right eye]. Brown hair. Fresh complexion. Amiable & a methodist.
In 1901 Thomas was in Ripon Workhouse aged 80. A widower.
