ELIZABETH BURNELL. born 30 Dec 1787 in Little Ribston, Yorks. Bap. 17 Feb 1788 in Spofforth Parish Church. Dau of James & Mary Nichols. Married John 18.11.1811 Kirkby Malzeard.
GEORGE BURNELL. In 1841 a farmer from Clotherholm near Ripon. Reported in Yorkshire Gazette that he had his watch stolen by *William Baines.*of Sawley.
JAMES BURNELL. Bap. 4.2.1759 Spofforth. Son Of Timothy & Jane Pullen. Died November 1844. Buried 2.11.1844 Masham.
He was a joiner in 1783 in Little Ribston. He lived in Grewelthorpe in 1808. He married Mary Nichols. [the dau of Joseph Nichols & Mary Benson.] They were married on 1.7.1782 in Guiseley. Mary Bap.11.3.1759 Rawdon. Buried 2.11.1819 in Masham. James paid £10 for an alehouse license in 1803 in Grewelthorpe.
JAMES BURNELL. In 1822 he was listed in Baines directory as involved with an acadamy in Masham. He died 26 June 1822. His wife Ann administered his will Sept 1824. He left less than £100.
He left his clothes and apparel to his Father, James. He left his school books to his brother Abraham.
All the rest of his goods he left to his wife Ann.
JOHN BURNELL. Born C. 1850 Ripon. Gardener in 1881. Married Grace Greig Dall. from Scotland in C1894. had 3 children in 1901 in Durham. In 1911 they were living in Eaglescliffe, Durham with 6 children.
JOSEPH BURNELL. born 24 Dec 1798 in Little Ribston. He was Bap.10 Mar 1799 in Spofforth Parish Church. Died 16 May 1819 St. Andrews Church, Kirkby Malzeard. Son of James & Mary Nicholl.
MARY BURNELL. Born August 1784 Little Ribston. Died 1864. Dau of James & Mary Nichols. Married in 1804 to Peter Hutchinson. at Kirkby Malzeard church. Had 7 children. Lived at Fearby.
PETER BURNELL. Born 1856. Died 1872. Son of a joiner. Drowned in River Nidd Knaresborough in 1872.
Newspaper reports from 1872 and 1871. Peter had been a witness at the inquest of Peter Brunton one year before his own death.
ROBERT BURNELL. 1883 Boston Spa. Notice in Yorkshire Gazette 1883. that he was entitled to £100 from the estate of Elizabeth Barker of Harrogate.
SAMUEL BURNEL. Died 12.7.1795. He was a joiner in Wetherby.
TIMOTHY BURNELL. Bap. 16.4.1724 Thorner. Died 2.6.1812 Little Ribston. Buried Spofforth PC. Son of Robert.
In 1784 he was a pauper. Timothy married Jane Pullen. daughter of William Pullen and Eleanor on 27 May 1751 in Whixley, Yorks. Jane Bap 2 Feb 1729 in Whixley, Yorks. She . Cattle Driver. Son of Adied 22 Nov 1814 in Little Ribston, Yorks.

The Will of Abraham Burnell.
Whereas Since the making and Executing my Last Will and testament bearing date the fourth Day of September 1801 I have purchased a Small Freehold Estate at Bramley Grange in the Township of Grewelthorp near Ripon in the West Riding of the County of York I do give Devise and bequeath the said Freehold Estate to my two Nephews James Burnell and Abraham Burnell equally to be divided between them to have and to hold the said Freehold Estate together with all Rights Tenements and appurtenances thereto belonging and to their living Executors or assigns for Ever as Tenants in Common they paying nevertheless out of the said Estate One thousand pounds to the Children of their Brother Peter Burnell and sister Elizabeth Nichols equally divided among the said Children to those that are of age within one year after my decease and those under the age of 21 when they arrive at that age, or day of Marriage if Daughter with Interest from and after one year next after my decease and I do hereby ratify and confirm my said Will in every respect with this addition that if my Nephew Robert Burnell should die before me that his Brother Benjamin Burnell be my Executor and the Residuary Legatee with one other of my Country Nephews mentioned in my Will provided there be any residue to divide and I do declare this writing to be a Codicil to my said Will and annexed thereto as part thereof In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two.
