The Grewelthorpe Sports and Social Association is a group of volunteers who support the local community by running events for the people of Grewelthorpe. The GSSA was formed in 1977 to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.
The GSSA organises a number of events throughout the year which are well supported by the village.
These include annual: summer gala in July, a children’s Halloween party in October, bonfire and fireworks display in November and Xmas activities for the children. Our main fund raising event is an Easter Fair held in Masham Town Hall.
We also organise occasional events such as family ice skating trips, pantomime trips, Xmas shopping trip, swimming and roller skating. We are always open to suggestions of events that the residents of Grewelthorpe would enjoy.
The GSSA is always looking for volunteers to help stage these events, all you need is a bit of free time and the will to support your local community. We meet approximately every 2 months, if you would like any further information please contact Gillian on 650229, or you would be welcome to attend our AGM which is held in September, publicised on the village notice boards.
