Grewelthorpe Gardeners’ ClubThe GGC was formed following an inaugural meeting on February 17th 2015. Originally the group was part of the Village Hall organisation, formed with the aim of offering horticultural opportunities to the community. GGC has gone from strength to strength and, with around fifty members from Grewelthorpe and nearby villages, is now operating as an independent village group.
Our programme last year included talks by popular and well respected members of the horticultural world, RHS and NGS garden visits, a willow workshop, snowdrop planting, Gardeners Question Time and social gatherings.
We welcome everyone, gardeners or not, no matter how large or small your garden might be. Whether you take pleasure in growing for yourself, or simply enjoy seeing other gardens and sharing expertise.
Our monthly meetings are informal social occasions, held in Grewelthorpe Village Hall at 7.30pm. Refreshments are available.
Annual membership runs from April and is currently £5 per person. For this members can enjoy free or reduced costs for talks and 10% discount on plant purchases from Braithwaites of Leeming and from Guy Bramley who has the plant stall at Ripon Market on Thursdays. We also operate a bulk buying scheme with Dobies which enables members to buy seeds at a 50% discount and other items at 15% discount. New members are always welcome.
